Can I be honest with you? I have a really hard time completing any task from start to finish. I get really motivated and enthusiastic about something in the beginning (flashback to when I first read about the KonMarie method and grabbed every item of clothing I owned and threw them in a pile in my living room). However, somewhere around halfway through, I lose steam. Sometimes, I tell myself its not my fault – I have two toddlers and always seem to be in a constant state of distraction. But the truth? Most of the time, I just don’t FEEL like finishing. I allow myself to get pulled away because in reality I just don’t have the motivation to finish what I started. Remember that pile of clothes I mentioned earlier? Yeah, let’s just say we were pulling clothes out of that pile for several weeks before I finally went through and found the clothes that “sparked joy.”

But enough about my shortcomings. I want to celebrate a little victory I had the other day. I successfully completed a project. From start to finish. In the same day. Crazy, right? We have a lemon tree in the back yard that was just bursting with lemons and I finally decided to do something about it. I had just put the littles down for a nap, and instead of laying on the couch staring at my phone I went outside in the sunshine and picked every single lemon off of that darn tree. Then, I washed them, dried them, and put them in a bin to bring into the house! To say I was proud of myself is an understatement. It wasn’t easy and I wanted to give up, but I pushed through and that feeling of accomplishment was oh so worth it.

So here is my encouragement to you: you can do it. You can do the hard thing even when you don’t really feel like it. You can dig deep and make yourself proud. Even if it’s over something silly like lemons.
Thanks for reading.
